Special Notice for Louisiana Policyholders

Following the devastating floods suffered earlier this summer, the Louisiana Department of Insurance has issued a new notification to insurance carriers to suspend termination of life insurance policies in specific parishes. The suspension period begins October 13, 2016 and remains in effect until February 9, 2017. Insureds residing in the affected counties will not lose coverage due to non-payment of premiums during the moratorium period. Please note, premiums will be due after the period has expired unless the moratorium is extended.

Affected Areas:

  • In the state of Louisiana the following parishes: Acadia, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Vermilion, Washington, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana.

Special Notice for South Carolina Policyholders

Following the recent flooding in parts of the state due to Hurricane Matthew, the South Carolina Department of Insurance has issued a notification to insurance carriers to suspend termination of life insurance policies in specific counties for a 120-day period. The suspension began October 8  and ends February 7, 2017. Insureds residing in the affected counties will not lose coverage due to non-payment of premiums during the moratorium period. Please note, premiums will be due after the 60-day period has expired unless the moratorium is extended. 

Affected Areas:

  • In the state South Carolina the following counties: Beaufort, Berkeley, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Horry, and Jasper

Special Notice for Tennessee Policyholders

Following the recent wildfires in Tennessee, the Tennessee Department of Insurance has issued a notification to insurance carriers to suspend termination of life insurance policies for a 60-day period. The suspension began December 2 and ends February 1, 2017. Insureds will not lose coverage due to non-payment of premiums during the moratorium period. Please note, premiums will be due after the 60-day period has expired.
