For everything from important documents to fantasy football stats, more people are using cloud storage to house their information.

However, experts say people often don’t go far enough to protect this data.

There are many layers of security involved in cloud storage. They range from the way the services themselves protect data at the broadest level, to the kinds of passwords people use at the individual level.

While most people can’t do anything about cloud providers’ security measures, they can at least research their options to find the ones that offer the most security, such as encryption.

Meanwhile, it’s important that they don’t upload anything they wouldn’t want to have exposed in a hacking attack. That includes financial or personal information.

In addition, having long passwords made up of random numbers, letters, and symbols can be another deterrent to hackers.
