Like most people, veterans are always on the lookout for ways to save money. And fortunately, many businesses answer that call with discounts for veterans and their families.

However, one such effort from the federal government unfortunately hasn’t really gotten off the ground in the past few years.

In 2014, an online shopping discount program for vets was proposed by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. It would allow everyone who was honorably discharged to enjoy the same discounts as when they were serving.

But right now, that idea still hasn’t been approved by the U.S. Department of Defense, as it awaits a final version of the proposal.

If passed, the savings could be available to vets within just six months, and should provide a huge benefit to them and their families as they try to keep costs down.

Thanks for watching, and be sure to check back for more news about how veterans can get a little help.
