Hello, and welcome back to our series on parenting over Skype. In case you missed it, Part 1 suggested setting a regular time to Skype and planning activities for your chat session. Here are some additional tips for military parents using Skype.

Understand that sometimes your children aren’t going to want to talk. Kids go through cranky phases, and it’s important not to force them to Skype when they aren’t in the mood. This ensures that your chat sessions remain positive.

No matter what’s going on in your situation or your children’s, remember to keep interactions positive. Deployment is tough on everyone, but you can help make it less difficult for your family by keeping an upbeat attitude and telling positive stories when you’re Skype-ing home.
