Stress is one of the biggest issues veterans deal with, and it can be a major problem in their lives if left unaddressed.
As a result, many organizations exist for the specific purpose of helping former service members cope with and reduce stress.
One such group is Guitar For Vets, which is based in Milwaukee. As the name implies, it helps by providing free guitars and lessons to veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental issues.
The organization has 40 chapters across the country and has been in operation since 2011.
Participating veterans say the group lessons are a fun way to get out of the house, learn a skill, and interact with others who go through similar hardships.
Whether participants play Johnny Cash or Thin Lizzy, this organization allows veterans to get back on the path to a healthy, happy life.
