Tricycles may seem like something many adults have long since outgrown, but for some veterans, these vehicles now prove crucial.
That’s because an organization called Ambucs is working to provide veterans with disabilities and others with free three-wheeled recumbent models.
Tricycles can go a long way for many vets. They get vets out of the house and exercising in a safe, fun way.
Users can’t fall off the tricycles, which are also a great choice for people with disabilities who cannot use a bicycle.
So far, Ambucs has distributed 55 tricycles to veterans within the Gulf Coast of Mississippi alone, with different groups raising the money to pay for them .
This kind of help is important because it can get vets with disabilities to be more active and social, providing a potential lifeline for them to avoid some of the pitfalls other vets face.
