Female veterans face a range of problems that their male counterparts do not. Fortunately, organizations are doing more to address those issues.
The Mission Continues is a veterans organization that recently held its first support event for women only, and the response was massive. The conference, held in New Orleans, attracted dozens of local female veterans.
The event featured support groups, talks, and skills workshops. The Mission Continues recently found that while women only make up 15 percent of active duty troops, female veterans were utilizing half of the organization’s programs.
