Welcome back to our series on fun hobbies for veterans to take up in their life after service. Last time, we looked at how model building can help former servicemembers physically, emotionally and creatively. Now, let’s look at why soldiers should consider starting a yoga practice.

Yoga is a great way to stay in shape once you’ve left the rigid physical fitness demands of the service. It helps you maintain strength and flexibility, and can be adapted to many different skill levels.

In addition to being a great workout, yoga is excellent for improving the mind and soul. According to the Veterans’ Yoga Project, psychologists often recommend this activity to former soldiers because it’s been proven to help people experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder and can be a great tool for successful reintegration to civilian life.
