The VA has been under fire for some time now, as its processes have repeatedly put undue strain on veterans who needed health care and help.
Now, a new regional director for the organization wants to show that it is committed to altering its recent legacy with new action.
Peter Dancy, new director of the Alexandria, Virginia, VA’s Health Care System, acknowledges the need to regain veterans’ trust after years of problems.
Those efforts include more outreach to engage with veterans, a complete overhaul of phone systems to reduce hold times, and more clinics being opened.
This isn’t a full fix, and it is just for one area’s VA organization, but it shows steps are being taken to help veterans as much as possible once again.
