The Irreverent Warriors is a veterans group that recently met in Lafayette, Louisiana, to raise awareness of these conditions with its second commemorative hike.

Participants hike 22 kilometers, wearing backpacks loaded with 22 kilograms of weight. This signifies the 22 veterans who die by suicide every day. Fortunately, those who go on the hikes say they’re fun and build camaraderie with fellow veterans.

Be sure to check in again soon for more news about the issues facing veterans on a daily basis.
