Unfortunately, veterans may not always find it easy to get jobs after service. But now, more is being done to help place them into high-tech, well-paying positions.
Joining Forces – a veteran jobs program launched five years ago – recently got a renewed commitment from 40 companies in the tech field.
Experts say veterans make good job candidates in tech, because their training helps prepare them for what these careers demand.
As such, the Joining Forces initiative will see those companies hire or train more than a hundred and ten thousand veterans and their spouses in the next five years.
Industry insiders also say it may be more important for active-duty military members to receive more tech training as well. This could give them a head start and a clear path forward for a post-military career.
