Hello, and thanks for tuning in. As a veteran transitioning to civilian life, you face a number of challenges, from continuing your education to securing a fulfilling career. It’s important not to forget about your personal life, however. Finding hobbies that are relevant to your interests and help you unwind is an important part of a successful transition.

A fun pastime that’s been gaining popularity in the veteran community is craft work, particularly model building. Not only is this a fun way to be creative and artistic, but this hobby has been shown to be extremely helpful to disabled vets.

For former servicemembers with physical handicaps, model building can help with flexibility and dexterity in the hands, fingers and wrists. Additionally, this creative outlet can serve as a great way to handle depression.

Thanks for watching and check back soon for more information about veteran-friendly pastimes.
