Millions of people, veterans included, connect to the internet every day using public Wi-Fi hotspots. However, this poses a security issue in many cases.
Whether connecting to Wi-Fi at work, a coffee shop, or elsewhere, there are serious dangers that can quickly crop up.
Hackers may be sitting on those networks trying to gain access to critical data and become infected with a virus that attacks all connected devices.
Consequently, having firewall and anti-virus protection on all such devices is a must. And further, no sensitive data – like bank account information, passwords, and so on – should be transmitted over public Wi-Fi.
Taking these steps won’t completely protect from similar attacks, but will still go a long way.
Thanks for watching.
