Many groups now exist to help veterans get not only all the help they need, but also something to brighten their days.

One such group, known as Wishes for Warriors, recently took a trip to the NASCAR Xfinity Series 300. Veterans met a number of drivers and took in a race.

The group primarily deals with veterans who have serious physical and mental disabilities as a result of their service, such as traumatic brain injuries, PTSD or amputated limbs. Helping them forget about their conditions, if only for a few hours, can go a long way.

There are many such organizations all over the country, and the work they do is often a saving grace for many veterans who certainly could use the help.
