There are several ways to assist and honor veterans within their communities, and Howard County, Indiana, recently announced a combination of two such events. Veterans Stand Down Howard County comes first, followed directly by Veteran Appreciation Days in early November.
Stand Down events, held around the country, are designed to help military personnel find high-quality jobs, housing and more once they return to civilian life. Veterans and their families are invited to meet with people and groups eager to point them in the right direction.
The Howard County event has services specifically targeting homeless veterans, giving them the help they need to find permanent lodgings.
Military Appreciation Days will follow on the heels of Veterans Stand Down Howard County, with local companies joining up to give discounts and special services as a thank-you to those who have served.
Thanks for watching, we’ll see you next time.
