One of the biggest mistakes on resumes is including irrelevant experience. Make sure that all experience you list pertains to the job to which you are applying.
Though it may be habit for you, you should avoid using military slang or terminology on your civilian resume. Hiring managers are not likely to understand it, and it could prevent you from getting the job.
